Bulletin 2024-23-INS

New

Supersedes Bulletin 2018-20-INS and provides guidance on new federal requirements for STLDI and fixed indemnity excepted benefits coverage. Insurers offering STLDI or fixed indemnity plans are expected to make all necessary changes to comply with the amended federal rules. State law requirements unrelated to the durational limitation for STLDI continue to apply. All rates and forms must be submitted via SERFF for review and approval.

Bulletin 24-6

New

Beginning August 28, 2024, a regulated entity will have not less than 30 calendar days to submit any record or material requested by the Department. These requests for records or materials from the Department could include, but may not be limited to, requests made during Market Conduct investigations or examinations; requests made during financial examinations; data calls issued on a routine or ad-hoc basis; and requests made during the Department’s review of filings for rates, rules, forms, and advertisements.

Emergency Rule 49

New

Issuance of Emergency Rule 49, addressing the statewide public health emergency declared in the state of Louisiana which will remain in effect until November 11, 2024, unless terminated earlier by the commissioner of insurance. Emergency Rule 49 suspends certain statutes
regarding cancellations, terminations, non-renewals, non-reinstatements, premium payments,
claim filings and other related provisions for any and all insurance.
